Welcome to Health Promotion and Behaviour Change 2025-26! 

This module aims to give students the opportunity to equip themselves with the knowledge, skills and critical insights that is required to lead and manage an effective health promotion initiative. Health promotion draws on ideas from sociology, psychology, anthropology, education, epidemiology and other disciplines to understand how the health of populations can be maintained and strengthened.

This module will enable you to reflect on your progress in the course and evaluate ways of how you may develop your post-graduate professional employment and/or post graduate studies. 

This module introduces the concept of physical activity and health disparities in diverse community population groups and appraises social determinants of health contributing to health status. Students will examine the impact of a physical activity promotion intervention, upon reducing inactivity between diverse population groups and compile evidence linking activity behaviours with health outcomes, by examining a community based providers physical activity intervention.
