This module is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to create effective narratives for digital content. You will learn about the creative and technical skills of writing for short-form media across a range of platforms and narrative forms. The module will teach you the fundamental elements of story that all storytellers are required to understand and address in all forms of narrative writing, including developing and maintaining an audience and the creation of compelling characters. This process will lead to explorations of creating audience reciprocity, emergence of theme and the creation of meaning. You will explore a range of narrative structures drawn from forms including advertising, drama and games, and their use to inform, engage, convince and entertain the viewer. The module will explore genre and the way in which understanding and using genre conventions powerfully connects story with an audience. You will develop your ability to research, source industry inspiration, identify intended audiences, and present your ideas.
