This module is designed to support the advancement of independent, research-led visual practice at an advanced undergraduate level, while enhancing your creative development. You will refine your practice in alignment with your individual creative interests and research concerns, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical methodologies. You will critically engage with historical, cultural, ethical, and conceptual frameworks, and contextualise your work within contemporary photographic and visual discourse. Emphasis is placed on developing a distinct personal voice in response to specialist themes, and on articulating a conceptual position through your practice. Throughout the module, you will have opportunities to engage with industry professionals through study visits, guest speakers, lectures, and portfolio reviews. These experiences are designed to enrich your professional development and help prepare you for future study. In addition, peer review and collaborative learning will support critical reflection and the continued evolution of your practice.
