ANI4502-25-UOB-J Experiments in Animation for Commercial Application

This module will introduce you to the scope and potential of animation. It will expose you to both historic and contemporary practices and explore the narrative and expressive nature of animation as applied to the professional environment. Over the course of the module, you will be exposed to and experiment with a variety of analogue and digital workflows and processes. This will help you to understand the vital importance of experimentation to advance your personal practice and that of the industry. You will be exposed to a range of different animation genres and practices, exploring these via a range of short, animated outcomes designed to address a series of set briefs. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively on a short, animated piece, determining roles and diving the workload as appropriate to the given brief. Over the course of the module, you are tasked to engage with a variety of different approaches to animation and moving image.
